Ingredients
Instructions
- 1
Peel the potatoes, cut into 1 cm thick rounds, soak in water for 10 minutes and pat dry.
- 2
Heat the sunflower oil in a large pan and fry the potatoes in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until light golden; drain on paper towels.
- 3
In another pan, heat the olive oil and cook the finely chopped onion for 4 minutes; add the beef and cook for 8 minutes until the liquid evaporates.
- 4
Add the chopped green pepper, tomato paste and grated tomato and cook for 5 minutes; season with half the salt and the black pepper.
- 5
Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Layer half the potatoes in a medium baking dish, sprinkle with the remaining salt, spread over the meat sauce and top with the rest of the potatoes.
- 6
Pour the hot water in around the edges, cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- 7
Uncover and bake 15 minutes more until browned on top and the liquid has reduced. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
