Ingredients
Instructions
- 1
Warm the milk, water and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves; take off the heat before it boils and keep warm.
- 2
Melt the butter in a wide pot over low heat and add the flour.
- 3
Toast the flour over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, for 20-25 minutes until it smells nutty and turns light brown.
- 4
Lower the heat and carefully add the hot syrup a little at a time (it will spatter), stirring quickly.
- 5
Stir for 2-3 minutes until the halva absorbs the syrup and pulls away from the sides.
- 6
Cover with a paper towel under the lid and leave for 10 minutes, then shape with a spoon and serve.
